Two musicians who are rooted in down-home fiddle music, Ed and Geraldine Berbaum, known as Old Time Music, will entertain fairgoers as they wander around the fairground, picking on their fiddle, guitars and a variety of other instruments.
The Berbaums left their banking and teaching careers behind more than 25 years ago to pursue the roots of American music and a lifestyle to fit their musical talents. They live in Pennsylvania when they are not traveling across the country, entertaining at fairs, festivals and community events.
The Berbaums are devoted to teaching, preserving and sharing the joys of traditional American music.
While they mostly play fiddle and guitars, the couple also works in a few numbers on banjo, alto saxophone, mountain dulcimer and harmonica.
Their musical diversity includes hoedowns, polkas, jigs, reels, square dance tunes and ancient gospel songs.
Fans of PBS television might have seen them featured on the documentary A Journey to the Endless Mountains. They also have recorded more than 30 old-time songs for the Library of Congress.
Old Time Music performs nearly every day at the fair.
