The Tampa Bay Blues Festival is a couple of weeks earlier this year, but it still packs a strong lineup: Jimmie Vaughan with Lou Ann Barton headlines at 8:30 tonight, Robert Cray at 8:30 Saturday and Little Feat at 8:30 Sunday. Others on the bill include Coco Montoya tonight, Savoy Brown Saturday and Shemekia Copeland Sunday. The music starts at 1 p.m. today and Sunday, 11:30 a.m. Saturday. SPIFFS under the big Trop
For the first time in more than a decade, the SPIFFS Folk Fair returns to Tropicana Field where there are few worries about rain or overcrowding. More than 40 ethnic and cultural organizations will be on display. The entertainment includes the Gumbo Boogie Band tonight, Manase and His Island Connection tonight and Saturday night, Orquesta Infinidad Saturday night and El Grupo Pura Plena Sunday afternoon. The Parade of Nations is at 1 p.m. Saturday. Hours are 3 to 9 p.m. today, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Check out some of the area's finest food and drink at the 20th annual Best of Tampa Bay, a culinary celebration that raises money for the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center in downtown Tampa. Baseball legends - and beer
Some of the greats of baseball, including new Hall of Famer Wade Boggs, take to the field again Sunday, this time to raise money for All Children's Hospital and the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association. Also scheduled to appear in the Legends of Baseball Game at Bright House Networks Field in Clearwater: Vida Blue, Bob Feller, Luis Tiant, Orlando Cepeda, Harmon Killebrew, Goose Gossage, Ferguson Jenkins, Mudcat Grant, and many more, plus football players Mike Alstott and Desmond Howard and actor Jonathan Silverman.
