Arista Builders' headquarters for sale

There's still no word from the builder, who left some Hernando and Pasco customers with unfinished homes.

PORT RICHEY - The Regency Park Boulevard building where Arista Builders is headquartered is up for sale.

This comes after a Pasco Sheriff's Office investigation was launched last month into Arista and its owner, Samuel Meli.

More than 20 customers had hired the company to build their homes in Pasco and Hernando counties. When work on their projects abruptly stopped, they could not reach Meli.

Another Pasco builder, Accent Homes, said Meli contacted them earlier this year about buying his business, but Accent declined the deal.

Now Arista's office sits abandoned.

Staff at Rose Builders in Port Richey, which is owned by Meli's father, said "for sale" signs were put up at the building about a week ago. Rose Builders is handling the sale of the building only - not the business, said an official there.

Arista Builders has not declared bankruptcy.

In a February news release, Samuel Meli stated the company is trying to contact all of its customers and might try to enlist the help of other builders to complete any unfinished work.

However, Samuel Meli has not returned calls by the Times seeking comment. Nor did the release list any contact information for him or Arista.
