LEPA BUCK: 58, semi-retired, Clearwater

By Times Staff Writer
Published March 27, 2005

How did you get started in investing?

Through work in the 1970s with a 401(k).

What is your best investment so far?

The 401(k).

What is your worst investment so far?

None. Everything works. When the market when down, especially in the beginning of 2000, we lost a lot of money but we got it back.

Don't think about it until it's time to need money, so on a bad day, when the Dow Jones goes down, I don't feel so bad.

Do you think now is a good time to invest?

The market is going up overall. I'm optimistic.

How are you invested now?

All in 401(k) and IRAs - Franklin Templeton and Oppenheimer and some others.

Where do you get your investment advice?

From a broker. Also, I read the newspaper every day. I let the (broker) make money. I don't let myself get a headache from investments.
