The Gulfport Community Players will present the world premiere of Gil Perlroth's musical, Dancing With You, through Sunday at the Catherine E. Hickman Theatre, 5501 27th Ave. S. Show times are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 1:30 p.m. For reservations, call 322-0316.
Indian Rocks BeachThe Beauty and the Beach Festival, sponsored by the city, the Beach Art Center and North Beaches Branch YMCA, will be held Saturday from 8 a.m. to sunset.
Events on the beach at the 18th Avenue beach access will include the Guppy's Gulfside Gallop at 8 a.m., Beach Volleyball Tournament at noon, Miss Beauty and the Beach Contest at 1:30 p.m. and music by the Island Boy Band and Sunny Jim.
A fine arts and crafts festival will be held in Kolb Park from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Attendees can also check out the library book sale, bake sale, Rotary pancake breakfast, gallery art show, children's chalk walk and YMCA children's activities on the ball field.
The entry fee for artists at the arts and crafts show is $80. There will be cash awards. Applications are available at the Beach Art Center, 1515 Bay Palm Blvd. For more information on the Festival, call 595-2517 or 596-4331.
Other upcoming city events include a citywide garage sale, April 9; teen bonfire, April 16; beach party, April 23; chemical cleanup, May 28; and the 50th Anniversary Dance, June 4. For more information on any city event, call City Hall at 595-2517.
Madeira BeachThe 12th annual Spring Kind of the Beach Fishing Tournament, sponsored by the Old Salt Foundation and offering more than $80,000 in cash prizes in a variety of divisions, will be held April 21 through April 23.
Entry fees are $165 for members and $185 for nonmembers. A captain's party and meeting will be held April 21 at 6:30 p.m. at the Madeira Beach Ball Field, 200 Rex Place.
All entries must be paid and registered before April 23 when fishing starts at 6 a.m. Weigh-ins are conducted between 4 and 5 p.m. Contestants can leave from any port and bring their fish by boat or car.
Eligible species are limited to king mackerel, must measure at least 30 inches from nose to fork and must be caught with hand-held rods and reels. Proceeds will benefit the Children's Dream Fund. For more information, call 497-1060 or visit oldsaltfishingclub.com.
Redington ShoresA townwide Spring Garage Sale will be held Friday and Saturday. The annual Spring Cleanup will be held April 9.
Residents should place articles that are intended for pickup out at the curb the evening of April 8. Anything that two men can lift will be picked up, with the exception of 55-gallon drums, tires, car batteries and hazardous materials.
In addition, two roll-off containers will be at the old Town Hall vacant lot on 177th Terrace W and at the vacant lot at the southeast corner of Long Point Drive and First Street E on April 8 and 9. For more information, call the Redington Shores Town Hall at 397-5538.
St. Pete BeachThe St. Pete Beach Library is holding a Sidd Finch Trivia Contest to celebrate the 20th anniversary of a classic story set in the area. Contestants who answer as many of the following questions as possible will have a chance to win a voucher for two tickets to a Devil Rays game in "The Beach" section at Tropicana Field:
How does Hayden/Sidd end up in Tibet?
How does Robert Temple learn about Sidd?
Name four real Mets players or staff with roles in Plimpton's story.
What two classic baseball movies do the Mets want Sidd to see?
What is Debbie Sue's favorite nighttime activity in St. Petersburg Beach?

The answers can be found in the book, The Curious Case of Sidd Finch, by George Plimpton. Copies are available for checkout at the St. Pete Beach Library or for sale at Perk Fiction, a coffeehouse/bookshop in St. Pete Beach.
A discussion of Sidd Finch will be held Friday at noon at Perk Fiction, 709 Gulf Way in Pass-a-Grille.

The 8th Annual Beach Stroll, presented by Pass-a-Grille Woman's Club, will be held Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m., rain or shine.
The home tour will feature five Pass-a-Grille homes. Tickets are $20 a person and are available at Moon Shadow, 326 Corey Ave.; Markoe Gallery, 3112 Pass-a-Grille Way; Paradiso, Eighth Avenue in Pass-a-Grille; and Le Chateau Ste. Michelle, 136 Beach Drive, St. Petersburg. To order tickets by mail, send a $22 check, which includes $2 for postage, payable to: PAGWC Home Tour, 810 59th Ave. St. Pete Beach, FL 33706. Parking is available two blocks past the Don CeSar on the left going south and at the Community Church on 16th Avenue, or take the Suncoast Trolley to Pass-a-Grille ($3 cost is not included in ticket price). Whether you are an adult or a tiny tot, the St. Pete Beach Recreation Department has a class for you.
The Tiny Tots class, geared for children between the ages of 2 and 4, will offer a combination of tap, ballet, pretumbling and creative play. Children will need tap shoes, ballet shoes (or socks), leotards and tights, shorts or sweat pants, but no jeans. The Tiny Tots class will be held Tuesdays beginning April 5 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. An adult Tappin' to Your Favorites class, featuring basic tap steps to favorite '70s and '80s music, will be held Tuesday nights beginning April 5 from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m.
Adults will need to bring their own tap shoes. Both classes will be held in the Upham Room of the Recreation Center at 7701 Boca Ciega Drive. Treasure IslandThe Art Guild will hold a membership meeting and an all-media art show, "Anything Goes," at Treasure Island City Hall April 9 at 1 p.m.
Ribbons and cash prizes will be awarded. The public is welcome, and refreshments will be served. The exhibit also will be open to the public Mondays through Fridays, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. until April 27.
