HOMESCHOOLERS CURRICULUM RESALE DAY: Education Outfitters (formerly J & J School Supplies) will sponsor a Homeschoolers Used Book and Curriculum Sale from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. April 3O at the store, 3764 W Gulf to Lake Highway (State Road 44), Lecanto, across from Cowboy Junction Flea Market. There is no charge to come and sell items, but call to register. Some tables will be made available, but bringing tables is encouraged. To register, call Ann Schroder, owner, at 746-5776.

DENTAL PROGRAM ACCREDITED: Central Florida Community College announces its dental-assisting program has become accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation. The dental-assisting program has been under the administration of CFCC since May. Dental-assisting classes are held at the Hampton Center, which is also the home to the Marion County Dental Health Clinic.

Graduates from accredited programs can take the Dental Assisting National Boards and become certified through the state of Florida. The program takes one year to complete, and students must complete 1,230 hours of theory courses, clinical and laboratory sessions.

A free dental-assisting information session will be held at noon April 12 at the Hampton Center. For information, call (352) 873-5881.

GOLF CLASSIC: The Superintendent's Golf Classic will be at 8:30 a.m. April 30 at the Citrus Hills Golf and Country Club. The format will be four-person scramble limited to the first 144 players. Entry fee is $40 per person and includes golf, lunch on course, door prizes and hole contests. There will be three divisions (A, B and C) based on team handicap. Scoring will be based on team handicap and gross score.

KINDERGARTEN ROUNDUP: Kindergarten roundup for students who will be 5 by Sept. 1 and are zoned to attend Forest Ridge Elementary will be from 4 to 6 p.m. April 13 at the school. To register a child, parents must bring the child's birth certificate and Social Security card; up-to-date medical records, including a physical completed within one year of the school entry date (Aug. 8) and the blue Florida Immunization Certificate (the health department will provide booster shots free of charge and physicals on a sliding scale); and proof of residence (a current water, electric or cable bill) or manifestation of domicile from the county courthouse. Without these records, registration will not be completed.

In addition to the kindergarten teachers, representatives from the health department and bus garage will be there to answer questions. Students enrolled in prekindergarten at Forest Ridge do not need to register during the roundup; however, shot records must be up to date for kindergarten entry. PARENT FORUM: Parents, principals and teachers are invited to a parent forum, hosted by the Citrus County Council of PTAs/PTSAs at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the second floor conference room at the school District Services Center, 1007 W Main St., Inverness. Participants can discuss personal concerns regarding school-related issues with school superintendent Sandra "Sam" Himmel. CENTRAL FLORIDA COMMUNITY COLLEGE CITRUS COUNTY CAMPUS OPEN HOUSE: The second annual open house will be 1 to 4 p.m. April 17 at the campus, 3800 S Lecanto Highway (County Road 491). To be a sponsor or participate, call 746-6721.

LHS PROJECT GRADUATION: Parents of Lecanto High School seniors are encouraged to attend planning meetings for Project Graduation at 6:30 p.m. in the school's library tonight, April 11 and April 25. Project Graduation offers a safe way for seniors to celebrate graduation night with their classmates in a fun environment that's free from drugs and alcohol. More parents are needed to help make this celebration night successful.
