Photographer Donn Dughi dies at 72

Associated Press
Published April 7, 2005

TALLAHASSEE - Photographer Donn Dughi, whose pictures were used on newspaper front pages for more than a quarter century, died Wednesday, his family said. Mr. Dughi, who had suffered from congestive heart failure for several years, was 72.

Mr. Dughi spent 21 years with United Press International. His shots of captured serial killer Ted Bundy being returned to Tallahassee and of former Ohio State football coach Woody Hayes punching a Clemson player at the 1978 Gator Bowl were among the thousands he supplied to newspapers in Florida and across the country.

Mr. Dughi, who was divorced several years ago, is survived by two daughters, Leslie and Laurie.
