CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS
Representatives of the Volunteer Service League at Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center attended the 2005 Florida Hospital Association Legislative Day in early March. Liz Stacklin, volunteer president, Naomi Gray, vice president and Marge Maszota, volunteer coordinator spoke on several legislative priorities that affect local healthcare.
Topics of discussion focused on Medicaid reform, Amendments 7 and 8, funding for trauma care and funding for expanded nursing education throughout the state. Liz, Naomi and Marge shared their professional opinions on each matter with Florida state senators Nancy Argenziano and Mike Fasano during the event.
Each year, representatives of the Volunteer Service League attend Legislative Day to help legislators identify areas of concern in health care issues. Their participation plays an important role in providing excellence in health care to the community.
