Police arrest transient man after children complain

NEW PORT RICHEY - Police arrested a transient on charges he exposed himself to a group of children at a convenience store Sunday evening.

Enrique Garcia Lopez, 42, whose address was listed as transient in police reports, was charged with five counts of performing a lewd and lascivious act. He was being held without bailin the Pasco County jail on Monday.

According to an arrest report, the children, ranging in age from 9 to 13, told police that Lopez exposed himself and began acting in a "sexual manner" outside the Main Street Food Mart, 5912 Main St., in New Port Richey. They also told officers that Lopez was motioning with his hand for them to come over.

In unrelated incidents, two boys, 13 and 11, told Pasco County sheriff's deputies a stranger offered them candy outside the Dairy Queen at 6405 State Road 54 about 9 p.m. on Friday. And on Sunday two girls, ages 16 and 14, told deputies a man made them uncomfortable by driving alongside them on the 6600 block of Albemarle Parkway and asking repeated questions.

State representative offers free living will kits at district office

PORT RICHEY - State Rep. John Legg, R-Port Richey, is offering free living wills to west Pasco residents.

The wills were crafted and approved by the Florida Medical Association and the Florida Bar, said Legg, who represents parts of west Pasco from New Port Richey to Hudson.

"We've gotten about 200 living will kits that we're just trying to give out to people," Legg said Monday.

The packets are available at his District 46 office at 10014 Grove Drive, Suite B, Port Richey, FL. 34668.

"In rare cases where people are unable to come pick them up, we'll mail them to them," Legg said.
