DUNNELLON - Jillian Couillard blasted a three-run double and took a pitching win in relief as Citrus High's softball team downed Dunnellon High 10-4 Monday at the Tigers' field.

Couillard blasted a double to right center in the third inning to score three runs. That gave Citrus a 3-2 lead and the Hurricanes never trailed. Couillard also relieved starting pitcher Brittany Worrell in the fourth inning and picked up the victory. She is now 4-7 and Citrus is 7-12 for the season. Dunnellon fell to 8-8. Sasha Reece (6-5) took the loss.

"The pitch was right down the middle," said Couillard. "I pitched all right. We needed this win."

Both teams had nine hits but Citrus committed five errors while Dunnellon committed just three miscues.

For Citrus, Brittany North, Katie Wilson and Krystal Boardman all had two runs scored apiece. Boardman was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Nicole Roberts was 3-for-4 with an RBI. Kristina Trentacosta was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

Kayla Holt was 2-for-4 with an RBI for Dunnellon.

"We had a total win," said Citrus coach Mike Reynolds. "Jillian and Brittany both pitched well."

The game was disappointing to the Dunnellon coach.

"We didn't handle the bunt well," said Dunnellon coach Lou Minotti. "When you play on a Monday, you haven't practiced on Saturday or Sunday."
