Your chemical romance? Think again
By Don Lykins
Published April 13, 2005
My lover and I enjoy using "poppers" to make our lovemaking more intense. Do you recommend this?
No. Amyl nitrite is a medication prescribed for some heart conditions, and is not intended for use as a sexual enhancement. If you need chemicals to enjoy sex something is wrong. Plus, any time you misuse a medication or mood-altering psychoactive substance, bad stuff can happen, even death. Don't risk it.
I give my girlfriend good oral sex until my tongue falls out of my mouth. She enjoys it, but she prefers intercourse. Because of the nerve endings, I always thought women prefer oral rather than intercourse. Am I wrong?
You sound like the oral energizer bunny; you keep going, and going and going down. But you say your girlfriend digs intercourse, so why all the energy on the oral? The Sex Dude suspects your cunnilingal continuance is less about pleasing your girlfriend and more about proving your self-worth as a lover.
You are right about nerve endings, though; the clitoris is loaded with them. But if your lady loves steak, you don't force her to eat lobster. Focus on activities you and she enjoy and save your weary tongue for useful purposes like licking stamps.
Lubricant elucidation
There are basically two types of personal lubricants: oil-based and water-based. Oil-based lubricants can damage latex condoms, rendering them ineffective, so use water-based with latex. Use oil-based lubricants only with polyurethane condoms. Also, since oil-based lubricants don't wash away easily and can gather bacteria, there is an increased chance of vaginal infections.
Lastly, condoms have expiration dates. Make sure yours are still good.
