Jada Pinkett Smith knows that Girls Hold Up This World, as her new book attests, and this girl is doing her part by landing at No. 2 on the bestseller list. Released this week, the children's book features photographs and poems about how girls can use their talents to make the world a better place.

Pinkett Smith, 33, is the mother of Trey, Jaden and Willow with her husband, actor Will Smith, and she's pictured on the cover with 4-year-old Willow. Sounds like she took the advice of her own poem: "We girls hold up this world as we build our self-esteem. We know that discipline will turn a princess into a queen."

Go back to that legendary best night ever. Or worst night ever. Whatever. Prom Night by Elissa Stein showcases more than 90 snapshots, candids and formal prom pictures from the 1940s onward. Whether this hilarious and sometimes moving catalog of disasters in baby blue has any socio-anthropological value, you decide.
