County considers new lease on Publix site

By Times Staff Writer
Published April 16, 2005

CRYSTAL RIVER - The Citrus County government has investigated leasing the former Crystal River Publix site, located in Kings Bay Plaza on U.S. 19. The county currently leases a Crystal River satellite office nearby known as the Revco Building, which is about 8,400 square feet and leases for $5.34 per square foot plus $700 for common area maintenance, county records show.

The office is used by the tax collector, property appraiser and court clerk. It was damaged by last summer's storms. The building's lease will expire in about two years, and the county is exploring options. The former grocery store in Kings Bay Plaza has 43,000 square feet available. It is divided into three separate offices of about 13,000 square feet each. A yearly lease is expected to cost between $7 and $8 a square foot, records show.
