Two community theaters are opening plays this weekend: one a comedy about a showbiz marriage to die for and the other a bittersweet look at the dating lives of seniors.

At the Art Center Theatre on the campus of the Citrus County Art League in Citrus Hills, the killer comedy Murder Among Friends opens tonight. A faded actor tries to bump off his wealthy wife, but she has the same plans. Both are using the same middleman.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at 2644 N Annapolis Ave., off County Road 486 between Hernando and Citrus Hills. Tickets are $15 and available from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday at the box office. Call the box office at 746-7606 for reservations. Visit the Web site at www.artleague.info Playhouse 19 will present Cemetery Club, a comedy by Ivan Mitchell, Thursdays through Sundays through May 1. Joyce Reynolds directs.

Cemetery Club centers around three Jewish widows, all with different attitudes about life, who meet for tea once a month before visiting the graves of their husbands. When a widower visiting his wife's grave enters the picture, romance and conflict result.

Show times are 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 2:30 p.m. Sundays. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students. Box office hours are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Visit the box office at 865 N Suncoast Blvd. (U.S. 19), Crystal River, or call 563-1333 for reservations and information.
