The buzz

WHO'S HOT?

The obvious choice would seem to be Tiger Woods, but our pick is Masters runnerup Chris DiMarco, the man who had Woods struggling for air down the stretch last week. People don't usually remember who finishes second, but that won't be the case this time.

WHO'S NOT?

Eagles receiver Terrell Owens, who already is looking to renegotiate the seven-year deal worth almost $49-million he signed last March. In his defense, Owens, no doubt, is just trying to feed his family.

WHEN "COCOON" MEETS "DIRTY DANCING"

San Jose State has suspended its dance team because a sexy routine at a basketball game ignited a confrontation between an elderly alumnus and a 20-year-old dancer. The Associated Press reports "the confrontation, captured on videotape by a parent, erupted after a dance during a March 5 home game to the raunchy lyrics of Move Somethin by LL Cool J." Alum Ray Silva, 74, described it like this: "It was like a burlesque, with bumps and grinds. I just came unglued." He shouted at the girls to leave the court and one of the dancers got into a shouting match with him after the game.

WORLDWIDE WEIRD

According to a BBC report, players for an English soccer team say their training facility is haunted. They claim to have seen an apparition "hanging around." It has being described as a strange black shape. ... Question: When is it okay to laugh when a racer gets into an accident? Answer: When he's doing 25 mph during a demonstration parade in Portugal. That's what happened recently to Kawasaki motorcycle rider Alex Hofmann. He broke two bones in his wrist. "I didn't want to take my helmet off in front of the crowd, because they'd have been able to see how red my face was," Hofmann said. Well, at least he wasn't on a tricycle.
