Murder victim's mother charged with DUI

The mother of 13-year-old murder victim Sarah Lunde, of Ruskin, was arrested Wednesday night and charged with drunken driving.

Kelly May, the mother of murder victim Sarah Lunde, was arrested late Wednesday and charged with drunken driving as she left an Apollo Beach bar, authorities said.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, an officer spotted May's 1990 Jeep swerving on U.S. 41 west of Apollo Beach Boulevard about 8:40 p.m.

The Jeep had a broken tail light, reports state. The deputy pulled May over and noticed astrong smell of alcohol on her breath. May, 40, failed several field tests, authorities said.

May's 13-year-old daughter, Sarah, was found dead in an abandoned fish pond April 16. The man charged with murdering Sarah, David Onstott, once dated May.

Sarah will be buried Saturday in Ruskin.
