YOUNG ARTISTS: The Brooksville City Hall Art Gallery is exhibiting 75 entries from the 5th District Congressional Art Competition. The works will be on display from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday through April 29. Winners of the competition will be announced at a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. April 29. The exhibit is free. CAR SHOW: The Spring Hill Muscle Car Club will present its Spring Fling Car Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Pit Boss Bar-B-Q, 2270 Commercial Way, Spring Hill. BLACK ARTISTS: The African-American Club of Hernando County will present an exhibit, "Six Black Artists: Works on Paper and Canvas," from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Your Arts Desire, 5327 Commercial Way, Suite B107, Spring Hill. ON THE WING: Chinsegut Nature Center will have its "Welcome Back Songbirds" Earth Day celebration from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the center on Lake Lindsey Road north of Brooksville. Daylong activities include wildlife walks, nature lectures and exhibits, demonstrations, a birdhouse-building clinic, a bird-calling contest and puppet shows. The event is free. FISH AND PICKIN': The Istachatta General Store, 28198 Magnon Drive, Istachatta, will have an all-you-can-eat fish fry and concert beginning at 4 p.m. today. Wilson (Dec. 17), JoAnn Castle (Jan. 14, 2006), A Tribute to Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass (Feb. 4), John Davidson (subscriber-only performance Feb. 25), Masanobu Ikemiya (March 11) and New Odyssey (March 25). Concerts will be at Mariner United Methodist Church, 7079 Mariner Blvd. The guild will be accepting season subscription requests during the month of April. Single $55; couple $100. HPACG SEASON: The Hernando Performing Arts Center Guild has announced its 2005-06 season. Performances will include: A Tribute to Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass (Nov. 19), Southern Exposure Ensemble (Dec. 17), "Hollywood on Tour" (Jan. 14), Martin Preston as Liberace (Feb. 18) and the Synd'Cats (March 4). All performances will take place at 7 p.m. at the Hernando High Performing Arts Center, 700 Bell Ave., Brooksville. Season tickets are $60 each. Individual show tickets are $18 each.
