Police continue search for driver in road rage fatality

By Times Staff Writer
Published April 28, 2005

Tampa police continued their search Wednesday for a large, black SUV they believe was involved in a road rage incident on the Courtney Campbell Parkway that led to the death of a 33-year-old Tampa man.

Witnesses told investigators the SUV cut in front of an Isuzu Rodeo driven by Vincent Edward Tucker as the vehicles traveled westbound about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The vehicles never collided, but Tucker's Rodeo flipped, and he was ejected. He died at St. Joseph's Hospital.

Tampa police spokesman Joe Durkin said Wednesday the SUV probably wasn't damaged, making it more difficult to locate.

"We're at the point now where we're hoping the media attention will cause someone to come forward or provide the tip we need to track them down," Durkin said.

Anyone with information should call Tampa police at (813) 276-3578.
