Lindsay Dvorak and Caitlein Jammo will attempt to become the first doubles team from St. Petersburg High to win a state title today. The duo advanced to the Class 4A championship by defeating Olympic Heights' Sarah Gavnor and Shannon Gunning in a 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 marathon.
"It didn't feel as long as it probably was," Dvorak said.
The three-set match was the longest match the pair had endured this season, but they didn't seem to mind the wait.
"During the season we've been playing a pro set, so this was the first three-set match we've had," Jammo said. "That was definitely entertaining."
Dvorak and Jammo face Natalie Collins and Kendra Higgins from Vero Beach at 9 a.m. in Orlando.
