Moving article about Brooke is a reminder

Letters to the Editor
Published May 1, 2005

Re: Brooke would be 9 today, by Michelle Allen.

The school bus tragedy that killed Brooke Ingoldsby was sad. This permanent loss has caused this family great emotional turmoil. Brooke sure had wonderful, loving parents, and Michelle Allen's April 27 article about Brooke's school, friendships, laughter, etc., was very moving. All of us should know that life is a gift and we need to live it with love day to day. Each moment of life must be savored.

Tearing down Biltmore makes no sense

Re: It's coming down, April 23.

No matter the comments, "It's coming down" - that beautiful old Belleview Biltmore hotel.

Why do we no longer preserve our beautiful past?

To tear down when you can redo makes no monetary sense. The new owners of the Biltmore must have more money than they know what to do with. Such a waste!
