Lee Scott Carter, son of Christi Ann Carter of Seminole, has been accepted to the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado. He plans to graduate from Osceola High School in May and report to the academy in June.

Coast Guard Cadet Third Class Kevan P. Hanson, son of Pat and Paul Hanson of St. Petersburg, has been accepted to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., as an exchange cadet for the fall 2005 semester. He is currently pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering at the Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn. He is a 2003 graduate of Boca Ciega High School.

The following recruits have completed Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.:

Navy Seaman Recruit Julius R. Baker Jr., son of Telisa A. and Julius R. Baker of Pinellas Park and a 2004 graduate of St. Petersburg High School.

Navy Seaman Recruit Jason R. Lowe, son of Wendy M. Loske of St. Petersburg and a 2003 graduate of Northeast High School.

Navy Seaman Roman P. Motos, son of Victoria P. and Salvador A. Motos of St. Petersburg.
