OCALA - An Inverness man died Tuesday after crashing a dump truck into Annie's Full Moon Saloon in Belleview in Marion County, according to Marion County Fire-Rescue.

Paul McGaffrey, 49, died at Munroe Regional Medical Center after authorities say he lost control of a dump truck, hit a telephone pole and slid about 500 feet into the saloon, according to rescue officials and the Florida Highway Patrol. The crash occurred about 5 a.m., and firefighters were able to pull McGaffrey from the truck by climbing through the back window of the cab, according to a Fire-Rescue news release. McGaffrey was then transported to the medical center, where he later died, according to the release. The Highway Patrol is investigating the incident, according to the release.
