"WAIT UNTIL DARK": Eight O'Clock Theater presents the thriller Wait Until Dark today to Sunday and May 12-15. The story follows a con man and two exconvicts who trace the location of a mysterious doll with heroin sewn inside to the apartment of Sam and his blind wife, Suzy. Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances at 8 p.m., Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Largo Cultural Center. Call 587-6793.

CINCO DE MAYO: A concert of Mexican music in celebration of Cinco de Mayo and Mother's Day will be performed at 8 p.m. today at the Tarpon Springs Performing Arts Center, 324 Pine St. Mariachi Tapatilo Banda San Martin and Tomas Granado & Friends will perform Mother's Day serenados. The event is presented in part by the Florida Folklife Program, Office of Cultural & Historical Programs. Admission is $5 for adults; children 12 and under admitted free.

ARTISTS RECEPTION: Imago Art Group @ Trailside presents original artwork by 16 artists, including Sultana Volaitis and Bruce Kotchey. The show opens with a reception from 6:30 to 9 tonight. Parking and admission are free and refreshments will be served. The event will be held at 464 Douglas Ave., Dunedin. Call 736-6172.

RECEPTION: The Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art, 600 Klosterman Road, will host an opening reception for "Mariano Yunta Lopesino: A Spaniard in Paris" on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. The cost is free to museum members and $10 for nonmembers. Refreshments will be catered by the Columbia Restaurant. Entertainment includes flamenco dancers. Museum hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., evening hours are Thursday 5 to 9 p.m., Sunday hours are 1 to 5 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and free to children and students with ID. CONCERT: Suncoast Symphony Orchestra presents a concert Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at First Christian Church, 2298 Drew St., Clearwater. Orchestra donations are accepted.

OPERA: Florida Lyric Opera performs highlights from Brigadoon on Sunday at the Tarpon Springs Performing Arts Center, 324 Pine St., 3 p.m. The Lerner and Loewe musical was inspired by the story of a quaint Scottish village of Brigadoon that appears only once every hundred years. Admission is $12, center members or students, $10. Call 942-5605.

ART PROGRAM: The Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art presents the monthly program "On the Easel," Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the museum lobby. "On the Easel" acquaints attendees with works of art that are gifted or on loan to the museum. This month's discussion will highlight Richard A. Florsheim's Flying Sails. A question and answer period will follow. "On the Easel" is included in the cost of admission to the museum.

CONTINUING

ANNUAL EXHIBIT: The Dunedin Fine Art Center's annual student, member and faculty exhibitions will run through May 13. These exhibitions offer the opportunity for current members or students to exhibit their best work. The work is displayed along with the work of the center's faculty members. Cash and place awards are included. The center is at 1143 Michigan Blvd., Dunedin. Call 298-3322.

ART EXHIBIT: "Images of My Imagination" by artist Karen Mason of Largo will be at the Packinghouse Gallery, 10900 Oakhurst Road, Largo, through June 30. Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call 596-7822.

ART EXHIBIT: Painted Fish Gallery, 350 Main St., Dunedin, will show landscapes and paintings of coastal life by gallery owner Bill Renc, and circular stained glass windows depicting butterfly and insect life by Diana Eagles, through May 29. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

MIXED MEDIA: "Lived Art," a mixed-media exhibit by John DiSanza, will be held Saturday through June 29 at Tarpon Springs Cultural Center, 101 S Pinellas Ave. DiSanza, a Dunedin resident, is also an author and actor. An opening reception will be Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. Exhibit hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday noon to 4 p.m. Free admission.
