Woman is charged with beating, neglecting kids

NEW PORT RICHEY - A 36-year-old woman was arrested Wednesday, accused of beating a 14-year-old girl and leaving an 8-year-old boy alone.
Diane Faith Stark of Meteor Drive faces charges of child abuse and neglect.
Two neighbors told Pasco sheriff's deputies they saw her drive up to her home after drinking alcohol and begin chasing the girl through the front yard and hitting her on the face and back.
Stark admitted to deputies that she beat the girl and also, while she went out drinking, left the boy in the girl's care.
A deputy found the boy walking with no shoes along U.S. 19, a sheriff's report says.
Stark was held Thursday in the county jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
