Teens, bounce by for a party

By Times Staff Writer
Published May 12, 2005

St. Petersburg throws its biggest teen party of the year this week with skateboard, wakeboard, skating and BMX competitions; a concert by Crossfade, a favorite of the skateboard crowd; a battle of teen bands; and aerial motocross demonstrations by Tommy Clowers, one of the extreme sport's stars.

For tamer tastes, there will be giant inflatable games, a rock-climbing wall and other fun stuff for kids and teens.

It all takes place Saturday and Sunday at Spa Beach and the Dolphin parking lot at the base of the Pier, which is downtown, at the end of Second Avenue NE. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free during those hours, with a fee for concessions and the games. After 6 p.m. Saturday, admission is $20 for the Crossfade concert. (727) 892-5060.
