They say it their way
The Center Academy graduating class didn't need a big name speaker.

Young people don't always get to speak for themselves.
So at Thursday's Center Academy graduation ceremony at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club, the 15 students receiving diplomas didn't listen to a guest speaker. They shared their own wisdom and gratitude.
"For all of those who said I couldn't do it - without you, I wouldn't have wanted it so bad!" wrote John Harrington, summing up the experience of many who attend Center.
"My urge to prove you wrong became my motivation to succeed."
Students from the Center Academy in Pinellas Park, like those at the other seven Center schools in the Tampa Bay area, chose such schools because their learning styles are not always accommodated in public schools.
"I struggled through many schools, both emotionally and academically," offered Jessica Potts. "My parents saw that and eventually found a more comfortable environment for me to be in, which happened to be Center Academy. I am finally satisfied with myself."
The students also heaped praise on supportive friends and family.
"Dear Mom and Dad," said Chris Mobberley. "Thank you for feeding me - with food and ideas.
"Thank you for bringing me to this point - I now believe I can take care of myself."
The seniors, some of whom have started college, were also full of hope and optimism.
"Thank you for all I have learned, and all you have taught me that doesn't appear in a book," wrote Jeremy Rollins. "Most of all, thank you for the freedom to begin."
