HEY COACH, GOTTA MINUTE?
When a coach won't play your son, you can always try reason. Or, you can take things to the next level and threaten to kill him. Police say a 46-year-old father in Westboro, Mass., did the latter. Upset over his son's playing time, the man allegedly threatened the life of the Millis High freshman baseball coach during a telephone conversation with the school's athletic director (Well, you know what they say, tact is everything). Police and school officials locked down the town's elementary, middle and high schools until the man was arrested.
A SHOCKING POINT OF VIEW
Former Detroit Pistons star Bill Laimbeer, now coach of the WNBA's Detroit Shock, had this to say about the league in a recent interview with the Kansas City Star: "It's pretty much the same brand of ball you used to see in the '80s (in the NBA)." The one-time Bad Boy also says Clay Aiken is the second coming of Phil Collins, prefers listening to Van Halen's latest work over 1984 and Diver Down and thinks Eddie Murphy was every bit as funny in The Adventures of Pluto Nash as in Trading Places.
LITTLE KNOWN FACT
Berro.com reports that enough beer is poured every Saturday across America to fill the Orange Bowl.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Does anybody know where one might be able to purchase the Original Whizzinator? It's, um, for a friend.
