In medical program, they're the best

Palm Harbor University High School seniors Sean Kelly and Joe Eagleton are the top two students in the school's Center for Wellness and Medical Professions, with GPAs of 4.8.

Because of the way medical magnet classes are weighted, the students were out of the running for the valedictorian and the salutatorian spots at Palm Harbor University High. School Board policy prohibits them from being called valedictorians. They will, however, sit on the stage during graduation at Tropicana Field, receive medallions and have their biographies listed in the program of events.

Sean, the son of Pat and Cathy Kelly of Palm Harbor, plans to attend Burnett Honors College at the University of Central Florida, majoring in engineering. He is a member of the National Honor Society, an investigative aide for FDLE, a competitor for HOSA, senior celebration host and CWMP advisory board member.

Joe, the son of John and Nancy Eagleton of Oldsmar, plans to attend Wake Forest University, majoring in political science. His school and community service activities include interning for Sen. Bill Nelson, captain of the golf team, National Honor Society executive board member, Creative Problem Solving competitor and CWMP advisory board member.
