WEEKI WACHEE - A 52-year-old man who said he was blinded by the sun on Thursday morning was charged with careless driving after his vehicle struck a school bus near Weeki Wachee.

The Hernando County school bus, which was transporting six students from Nature Coast Technical High School, had stopped at Shoal Line Boulevard and Waverly Road around 7:20 a.m., when it was struck by George Anderson's vehicle, said sheriff's spokeswoman Deputy Donna Black.

The students were not hurt. Anderson was taken to a local hospital, where he was treated and released.
