Charter review deadline extended

LARGO - The City Commission voted Tuesday to extend the application deadline for the charter review committee.

Applications are now due Wednesday, June 1, at 5 p.m. The Charter Review Committee is responsible for reviewing the existing city charter, advising the commission of the results of the review and providing recommendations to the commission for amendments to the charter by November. The commission will review the recommendations and place approved changes before the electorate at a referendum in March. To be considered for the charter review committee, individuals must be Largo residents and complete an application. Members of other city advisory boards and committees may be considered for the charter review committee. No member of the charter review committee shall be employed by or be a city official. Applications are available at or the city clerk's office at 587-6710.
