  • For their own good

ARCHITECT: The Preston Partnership, Atlanta.

AMENITIES: Floor to ceiling exterior glass windows, 10-foot ceilings, high speed Internet connections, granite countertops in kitchens and baths, stainless steel kitchen appliances, balconies, optional hardwood floors, 24-hour concierge and virtual art gallery in main lobby. The Premier Sky Club on the eighth and ninth floors will have a fitness center, outdoor terrace with grilling areas, outdoor pool with sundeck, clubroom with plasma TVs and free Internet access and a kitchen.

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING: "I think it's fantastic," said Scott Morrison, a member of Emerge Tampa, a division of the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce geared toward professionals younger than 35. "(SkyPoint is) some of the most affordable housing stock that's opening up in downtown, so I think it will allow an entry to a lot of the younger folks."

TIMELINE: On Thursday, SkyPoint was expected to randomly select 100 people from its registration list to choose their units. Another drawing will be conducted in late summer to early fall for the remaining units. SkyPoint would not say how many names are on the registration list. Groundbreaking is scheduled for June 14.

MOVE-IN DATE: Fourth quarter of 2006.
