SARASOTA - Miami Florida Christian scored six runs in the third inning to defeat Jacksonville Arlington Country Day 7-5 for the Class 2A championship.
The win capped consecutive titles for the Patriots (29-2), who have advanced to the state semifinals five consecutive seasons.
"It hasn't sunk in yet, and it probably won't for another couple of hours," Patriots coach Ernie Padron said.
The Patriots led 7-0 after three, and starter Mitch Walker (9-1) made it stand. Walker, a transfer from Miami Palmetto, pitched a complete game, striking out eight and walking two.
Mike Allen (10-2) gave up all seven runs for the Sharks (27-5) before being lifted after the third.
