LECANTO - The county government has sent a stern letter to R.E. Graham, the contractor who is building the $1-million Extension Services and Environmental Health Building in Lecanto.
The revised completion date for the building, April 15, has long since past, Department of Public Works assistant director Tom Dick wrote on Tuesday. He asked for a list of remaining work, a work schedule and an accurate occupancy date. Failure to adequately respond to "any and all issues" concerning the overdue building "could lead us to contact your bonding company to ensure compliance and completion," Dick wrote.
The 11,500-square-foot building will serve the University of Florida's extension services and the county Health Department. It is being built just north of the Lecanto Government Building, which is at 3600 W Sovereign Path.
