UF meets Ole Miss in SEC semis

Fourth-seeded Ole Miss (42-17) ousted fifth-seeded Alabama (38-21) in an elimination game at the 2005 SEC Tournament in Hoover, Ala., 5-3, setting up a rematch today against top-seeded Florida (41-18).
The Gators defeated the Rebels 10-7 Friday in the winner's bracket. Ole Miss needs two victories to reach Sunday's championship game.
Freshman lefthander James Adkins struck out 12 batters in eight innings as Tennessee beat South Carolina 4-1. The Volunteers (41-18) now must beat Mississippi State twice today to advance to the championship game.
ACC: Florida State sophomore Michael Hyde threw a career-best 72/3 nnings, limiting Wake Forest to three unearned runs in the Seminoles' 7-3 win in Jacksonville. The game sent Florida State (50-17) into today's semifinals against Georgia Tech. The Seminoles are the first Division I team this year to reach 50 wins. ... Kris Harvey doubled home two runs in a four-run first inning and Clemson held off a ninth-inning rally to beat North Carolina State 5-4, eliminating the Wolfpack. Clemson (39-20) moves on to today's semifinals against Virginia.
CUSA: South Florida (33-31) gave up nine runs on 17 hits losing to Southern Miss 9-3 in Hattiesburg, Miss., eliminating the Bulls from the conference tournament.
ATLANTIC SUN: Cameron Abel worked six innings of relief and Adam Tindle delivered a two-run single as Stetson advanced to the championship game with a 7-3 victory over Florida Atlantic in DeLand. Stetson (34-26) now awaits the winner of today's game between UCF (42-17) and FAU (35-21).
TRACK AND FIELD: FSU's Johnson leads
Florida State's Garret Johnson, who went to Tampa Baptist Academy, was in first place in the men's discus after the first round of the NCAA men's East Region track and field meet in New York. Florida State is second overall, behind Georgia. No. 2 ranked Florida is third. ... Florida's women are 10th with six points as Georgia leads with 22 points. ... Florida sophomore Mike Morrison claimed the title in the high jump. ... Central Florida junior Tiffany Roebuck placed 11th in the hammer throw. ... Georgia Tech's Ashlee Kidd, a sophomore from St. Petersburg, qualified for the finals of the women's 400 meters with a time of 53.10. Kidd was also on the 4X100-meter relay team that qualified for the finals.
TENNIS: Magley loses in semis
The University of Florida's Jennifer Magley of Bradenton lost to Baylor's Zuzana Zemenova 7-5, 6-4 in the NCAA women's singles championship in Athens, Ga. Zemenova will face Northwestern freshman Audra Cohen.
FSU's Cloer loses: Mat Cloer lost to fourth-ranked Catalin Gard of Mississippi 6-2, 4-6, 6-3, in the NCAA men's singles tournament in College Station, Texas.
