A man was arrested and accused of threatening to kill his live-in companion after a domestic argument at their house Sunday.

Lloyd D. Fair, 33, 26 N Osceola St., Beverly Hills, argued with a woman who had lived with him for the past eight years, threatened to kill her with a knife and flattened the tire of her vehicle, according to an arrest report. He left the home in a white van as deputies were heading to the home, the report said.

The argument started about 5 p.m., when the victim, who was not identified in the report, confronted Fair concerning his consumption ofunspecified pills, the report stated.

Deputies found Fair driving the white van on County Road 491. He was later arrested and taken to the Citrus County jail. Fair repeatedly said he intended to kill the victim - threats that he repeated at the jail, the report stated.

Fair was held on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, battery and a traffic citation. He was being held without bail.

In another domestic argument, a Floral City man was arrested and accused of preventing his girlfriend from calling 911.

George Eugene Bertram, 36, 7242 Baker Ave., was held on charges of witness tampering and battery after the incident at his home Saturday morning.

After being told by his girlfriend that she wanted to end their relationship of 10 years because she was dating another man, Bertram began to break items inside their home, an arrest report said.

The victim, who was not identified, became afraid and attempted to call 911 on her cell phone, the report said. But Bertram snatched the phone from her and smashed it on the floor, the report stated.

He was being held without bail Monday.

John Paul Higgins, 26, 205 W Thistle Place, Beverly Hills, was arrested after a hit-and-run accident Sunday.

According to the arrest report, Higgins struck a 2005 Dodge pickup at Croft Avenue and Dawson Drive in Inverness on Sunday. He drove off, but witnesses were able to identify him to a Florida Highway Patrol trooper, the report said. An occupant of the Dodge, Tina Christine Wiesen, was injured, the arrest report stated. Information on her condition was not available.

Higgins was found at a residence on N Fitzpatrick Avenue and charged by the FHP with failing to stop after an accident involving injury, leaving the scene of an accident and DUI. He refused to take a blood-alcohol test or submit to field sobriety exams, the report stated.

He remained in jail Monday.
