High-speed wreck kills driver

TAMPA - An early morning crash claimed the life of a driver and seriously injured two passengers Saturday on Memorial Highway.

Sean P. Connelly, 22, died at Tampa General Hospital from crash injuries, authorities said. Jennifer Davidson, 21, was listed in critical condition Saturday, and Alexis Murphy, 20, was in serious condition.

Tampa police said Connelly's vehicle and another vehicle were headed south on Memorial Highway at high speed when they collided, went out of control and struck a concrete overpass pillar. The occupants in the other vehicle were not injuried.
