Springstead gets some good news

By Times Staff
Published June 9, 2005

SPRING HILL - The last few days have brought good and bad news for Springstead High School.

While principal Susan Duval is under investigation by Hernando County officials for plagiarizing her last two commencement speeches, her students have performed well enough on standardized exams to raise the school's grade from a C to a B.

It is the first time any Hernando County high school has received a grade higher than a C from the state.

Duval did not respond to a request for comment Wednesday. She has apologized for not attributing her remarks in the two speeches.
