PALM HARBOR - A four-vehicle wreck late Friday afternoon sent five people to local hospitals and shut down the eastbound lanes of Alderman Road between Belcher Road and U.S. 19, according to Palm Harbor Fire Rescue officials.

The collision took place on Alderman at Summit Street and involved a sport utility vehicle, two cars and a van. Four adults, three men and a woman, and a teenage boy were sent to local hospitals, but none suffered life-threatening injuries, fire officials said. The Florida Highway Patrol was investigating, but no names or other details about the accident were available early Friday evening.
