'Day at the Races' set for 2 p.m. Sunday

BROOKSVILLE - Marine Corps League Spring Hill Detachment 708 will host a "Day at the Races" at 2 p.m. Sunday at the facility on Sunshine Grove Road.
The cost is $5 per person and will include coffee, tea and cake.

LifeSouth bloodmobiles plan two area stops
The following blood drives have been scheduled with the LifeSouth bloodmobiles:
Hardee's/Tractor Supply blood drive, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, at Tractor Supply, 18741 Cortez Blvd. (Truck Bypass 50), Brooksville. All donors will receive a Hardee's Thickburger, a recognition gift and a cholesterol check.
Father's Day blood drive, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse, 4780 Commercial Way, Spring Hill. All donors will receive a Chick-fil-A coupon, a recognition gift and cholesterol screening.

AARP will conduct 55 ALIVE driver program
SPRING HILL - AARP will conduct its 55 ALIVE Driver Safety Program classes at these locations in July:
Noon to 4 p.m. July 5 and 6, HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital, 12440 Cortez Blvd. Call instructor, 686-7179.
12:30 to 4:30 p.m. July 6 and 13, Oak Hill Hospital Enrichment Center, 11375 Cortez Blvd. (behind the hospital). Call instructor, 796-6185.
Noon to 4 p.m. July 19 and 21, Forest Oaks Lutheran Church, 8555 Forest Oaks Blvd. Call instructor, 684-8428.
9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 22 and 29, Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 6193 Spring Hill Drive. Call instructor, 688-9475.
The course is open to everyone age 50 and older. The cost is $10. Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate to submit to their insurance company for a possible rate reduction. Class size is limited; call the instructor to register.
Rockhounds announce dates for gem show
SPRING HILL - The Withlacoochee Rockhounds group has announced the dates of the 31st annual Gem, Mineral and Jewelry Show, which will be Dec. 2-4 at SNPJ Hall, 13383 County Line Road.
