ST. PETERSBURG - The first franchised location of the Davis Islands-based Estela's Mexican Restaurant opens at 10478 Roosevelt Blvd. N in mid July.
Franchisees Britt and Skylaar Guyer are actually opening the fourth location of Estela's. The other three are owned by Estela's founders Estela Pimentel Jorgensen and husband, Scott Jorgensen. They are on Davis Islands, on Dale Mabry Highway, across from Britton Plaza and in Brandon.
In Pinellas, Britt Guyer and his wife will open a 4,900-square-foot restaurant at Gateway Crossing Shopping Center. The menu and decor will remain true to Estela's Mexican roots, Guyer said. But one innovation will be a children's game room.
Construction begins on Chick-fil-A locations
PINELLAS PARK - Construction has started on Chick-fil-A at the Shoppes at Park Place, the former ParkSide Mall, and at 10043 Ulmerton Road in Largo.
Each restaurant will offer approximately 65 jobs.
Chick-fil-A is among a number of eating places that will be in the latest incarnation of the mid Pinellas mall. Also there will be Panera Bread, Chili's, Chipotle Grill, Planet Smoothie and Coldstone Creamery. Larger stores under construction at Shoppes at Park Place include Target, Michaels and Marshalls. The new Chick-fil-A locations will include changes to make the restaurants more efficient, according to the company, and enhance the dining rooms. Both are scheduled to open in October.
