Clearwater woman dies in car crash

PLANT CITY - A 21-year-old woman was killed in a crash Monday morning on Interstate 4.
About 8:20 a.m., Leila Al-Mutairi of Clearwater was driving a 1994 Honda Accord west on I-4 in the center lane, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
For unknown reasons, Al-Mutairi drove into the median, turned clockwise and slid across the median into the eastbound lanes, the FHP said.
An eastbound 2004 Toyota Sequoia SUV driven by 37-year-old Catherine Lynch of Winter Park hit the driver's side of the Honda, coming to rest partially on top of the car, the FHP said.
Al-Mutairi died at the scene, and Lynch was transported to Lakeland Regional Medical Center with minor injuries, the FHP said.
The eastbound lanes of I-4 were closed for more than two hours.
