Auralee Buckingham named to Hall of Fame

By Times Staff Writer
Published June 24, 2005

Auralee Buckingham of Lutz was inducted into the Hillsborough High School Alumni Hall of Fame on May 19.

Buckingham, a director of the Lutz Civic Association, was one of 10 inductees this year to receive the award, given to only 125 alumni since the event began in 1912.

She was honored before a crowd of nearly 200 people that included her brother and sister who also graduated from Hillsborough High School.

Hall of Fame alumni are chosen for their contributions made over a number of years for a wide variety of causes worldwide.

Buckingham is known for organizing community events in Lutz, including the annual Fourth of July celebration.
