Dollar days offer sneak peek at reopening movie theater

By Times Staff Writer

PINELLAS PARK - Movie fans can get a sneak preview of the revamped 16-screen cineplex at the former ParkSide mall.

The complex, now called Park Place Stadium 16, will officially reopen Wednesday. But the theater will have special dollar days Sunday and Monday. The proceeds will go to charity. The theaters will close Tuesday for an invitation-only VIP event before its Wednesday grand opening. The first movie Sunday is Fever Pitch, beginning at 12:10 p.m. Other films include Sponge Bob Squarepants, Sin City and Because of Winn Dixie. The theater closed about a year ago so the mall around it could be razed to make way for the Shoppes at Park Place. Construction is continuing on the remainder of the shopping center, 7200 U.S. 19 N.
