Brittany Jackson has two dream jobs, sideline reporter and sports model, and the former University of Tennessee women's basketball standout hopes the recent launch of Brittany-jackson.com will kick-start careers in both fields.
The site features a bio page, calendar and photo gallery, the latter of which includes glamour photos and shots of Jackson playing hoops. (She averaged 15.1 points for the Vols last season.) "It's a virtual resume, basically," Jackson said. "It's easier than doing comp cards and stuff like that. I've talked to some people who are doing similar things to what I want to do, and they have Web sites." Harrison Forbes, a radio/TV personality in the Memphis area, nudged Jackson into creating the site, which has drawn several thousand visitors in the month since it was launched. Jackson, who earned a degree in broadcasting, said most of the responses have been positive but some people have objected to the nature of the photos.
"That didn't surprise me," Jackson said. "You can't please everyone. Some people are trying to make a big story out of it. But it has been great. There has been tons of feedback."
Since the site was launched, the 6-foot Jackson, who once dated former Vols quarterback Casey Clausen, has interviewed for a position with the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies, drawn interest from the Fox affiliate in Atlanta and visited Florida for a photo shoot.
"It has helped me out a lot," she said. "I'm excited, and I'm just taking everything in and exploring the different options, whether it's in broadcasting or modeling."
GOOD NEWS FOR THE ZOOKER?
This just in: Revenge of the Nerds is scheduled for a 2006 remake.
We're not sure how much casting has been done, but shouldn't former Florida coach Ron "Frat Row" Zook at least get a reading for the part of Coach Harris ? Somebody book that man a flight to Hollywood immediately!
LINE OF THE WEEK
In his latest ESPN.com column, Peter Gammons estimates the new Yankee Stadium will increase New York's revenues by at least $50-million a year. . . . The Devil Rays are expected to combat their division rival's windfall by raising the price of hot dogs by 50 cents.

FINAL THOUGHTS
Honestly, what would you rather watch: a Pistons-Spurs game or a good rerun of Hogan's Heroes?
