Poll finds teens back faith displays

NEW YORK - U.S. teens overwhelmingly support religious expressions in school and public life, according to an American Bible Society poll.

The report said:

--82 percent of the teens surveyed favored "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance.

--72 percent thought students should be allowed to pray in school.

--82 percent said the slogan "In God We Trust" belongs on national currency.

--83 percent thought it appropriate to sing God Bless America at athletic events.

the poll of 1,000 teens was conducted in June by the Synovate market research firm. It had a reported margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.
