CALLING ALL CARVERS: The Nature Coast Carving Club meets at noon Mondays at the Crystal River Moose Club and at 1 p.m. Tuesdays at the East Citrus Community Center on State Road 44 E, Inverness. The club also holds a business meeting at 10 a.m. on the first Friday of each month at the Lakes Region Library, Druid Road, Inverness. The meeting also features a demonstration.
SEASON TICKETS for the Art Center Theatre are now available. The 2005-06 season includes Last of the Red Hot Lovers, Sleuth, Legends!, The Miracle Worker and Love, Sex and the I.R.S. Season tickets are $60. The box office is in the Cultural Center building of the art league campus at County Road 486 and Annapolis Avenue, across from Citrus Hills. WEST CITRUS ELKS of Homosassa, 7890 W Grover Cleveland Blvd., will host a dinner and dance at the lodge July 15. Dinner from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. will offer a choice of chicken marsala, baked or fried fish, or shrimp. Entertainment by the Johnny Angel Duo from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Elks and guests pay $8 at the door for the dinner and dance.
RECORDING ARTIST and entertainer Anna Moo, will perform at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. July 20 at the Citrus Springs Community Center 1570 W Citrus Springs Blvd. Her songs include catchy sing-alongs and her material is geared toward children. AUDITIONS for Last of the Red Hot Lovers, a Neil Simon play, will be at 7 p.m. July 18 and 19 at the Art Center Theatre, 2644 N Annapolis Ave., on the campus of the Citrus County Art League. THE KEY TRAINING CENTER presents "Wish for the Stars," an evening of classic Hollywood glamor featuring Betty Atchison, a Cher impersonator. Her show, Cher Through the Decades, will be the entertainment for the 23rd Annual Run for the Money dinner auction on July 15. The meal will be catered by Outback Steakhouse and will also include the Sonny and Cher impersonator dinner show as well as as live and silent auctions of items with a combined value of more than $15,000. Watercolor artist Anne Weaver will complete a painting during the event. The social hour and silent auction begins at 5:30 p.m. with dinner starting at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available at $50 per person. The event will be at the Citrus Springs Community Center. Call the Key Center Foundation at 527-8228. Proceeds are used to provide a broad scope of year-round, life-enhancing services to nearly 300 adults with mental retardation .
CITRUS SPRINGS will celebrate its anniversary with a "35 and Growing" party Sept. 10 at the Citrus Springs Community Center, 1450 Citrus Springs Blvd. Music by disc jockeys Bob and Jodi Valentine. Cash bar, tickets are $25.
QUICK TRIPS
BIRD LOVER JERRI SOLICITO will exhibit the artworks she has created from bird feathers arranged on canvas through Aug. 31 in the Upstairs Gallery at Pasco Arts Council's art center, 5744 Moog Road, Holiday. Also in the exhibit are watercolors, oils and charcoals done by Leonard Solicito. Most of the works are for sale. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays.
STAGE WEST COMMUNITY PLAYHOUSE, 8390 Forest Oaks Blvd., Spring Hill, will present Elvis Remembered at 8 p.m. July 15 and 16 and 2 p.m. July 17. Tickets are $12 and are available at the box office. Call (352) 683-5113 for information.
CENTRAL FLORIDA COMMUNITY COLLEGE Webber Center Gallery is having a rug hooking exhibit, "Craft as Art: Seeing with an Artistic Eye." The exhibit features works by the Ocala Rug Hooking Guild, and runs through Aug. 13. There is no charge to attend. The gallery is at 3001 SW College Road, Ocala.
