HEP Thrift Store selling furniture, clothes

The HEP Thrift Store, 1212 N Betty Lane, Clearwater, has vintage pieces, used furniture, brand name clothing, jewelry and knickknacks. The thrift store is part of the Homeless Emergency Project, a nonprofit organization that provides housing and supportive services for homeless individuals and families. Clearwater Penwomen seeking contest entries
The Clearwater branch of Penwomen calls on female writers to submit short stories, poetry, essays and journalism articles in a local contest. Each writer can submit unlimited entries. Entries should be typed, without names. Please make a cover sheet giving title or the first line of each entry, plus a name, address, phone number, fax and e-mail address.
All entries can be published or unpublished and remain the property of the author. Entry fees are $5 each for short stories (1,500 to 2,000 word limit), essays (1,000 word limit) and journalism (1,000 word limit); and $2 each for poetry, one poem per page. Make checks payable to Clearwater Penwomen.
Deadline to submit is Aug. 1. Mail entries to Penwomen Contest, P.O. Box 934, Safety Harbor, FL 34695. Winners and prizes will be announced Oct. 1. Call 725-1015.
