How did you get started in investing?
I guess just looking into mutual funds deals about 15 years ago.
What is your best investment so far?
I really stick with mutual funds: Franklin MicroCap. That's certainly done very, very well.
What is your worst investment so far?
I did have some money in individual stocks around 2000 in the tech field.
What have you learned about investing that you think other investors should know?
If you don't have the time to investigate and research individual stocks, stay with mutual funds.
How would you describe your approach to investing?
I would say moderate. I'm not going to go overly crazy, but I don't want to stick with money markets.
What do you find the most difficult about investing?
When I was in individual stocks, it was when to sell. Now, about every six months, I go in and see how the various funds are doing and maybe reallocate.
Do you think now is a good time to invest?
Cautiously, yes.
How are you invested now?
One hundred percent mutual funds.
What changes, if any, have you made in your investments in the past year?
No change in strategy. Just reallocating funds.
What is your goal for your investing?
Just growth for retirement.
What is your biggest money concern right now?
Housing costs - the way my house insurance has gone up over 300 percent in the last two years.
Where do you get your investment tips?
MorningStar.com. Then, of course, on the FranklinTempleton.com Web site.
