Top five movies and upcoming releases

By STEVE PERSALL
Published July 21, 2005

Current movies recommended by the Times:

1. Hustle and Flow - Terence Dashon Howard is superb as a Memphis pimp with musical aspirations. Winner of two Sundance Film Festival prizes.

2. Wedding Crashers - The funniest comedy of the summer, with Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson matched perfectly as cads faking their way into weddings for booze, food and sex.

3. The Devil's Rejects - Rob Zombie's ruthlessly violent movie is a shocking throwback to 1970s drive-in sadism. Not for the faint-hearted.

4. Mad Hot Ballroom - New York City public school students learn ballroom dancing in a documentary to make the hardest hearts melt and the clumsiest feet want to move.

5. Fantastic Four - Marvel Comics' enduring superheroes finally get the big-screen treatment, with a screenplay co-written by St. Pete Beach resident Michael France.
