Here's a list of local school orientations and open houses. Events are for family members only unless otherwise noted.

ARMWOOD HIGH: Orientation for freshmen and new students will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 2.
BRANDON HIGH: Freshman orientation, for students only, begins at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 2 in the auditorium. Open house, for all students and parents, will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 2.
COLLINS ELEMENTARY: An open house and orientation will be held from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Aug. 3.
DURANT HIGH: Orientation will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Aug. 2.
EAST BAY HIGH: An open house will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 2.
FISHHAWK CREEK ELEMENTARY: A meet and greet is scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m. Aug. 3 in the multipurpose room.
FOLSOM ELEMENTARY: An open house will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 2 in the multipurpose room.
GIUNTA MIDDLE: A sneak preview of the new school will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 2.
IPPOLITO ELEMENTARY: A visitation day is scheduled for 1 to 2 p.m. Aug. 3 throughout the campus.
JENNINGS MIDDLE: An open house for seventh- and eighth-graders will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Aug. 2 in the cafeteria. Sixth-grade open house is from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
MANN MIDDLE: Sixth-grade orientation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 1 in the cafeteria. Seventh- and eighth-grade orientation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 2 in the cafeteria.
MINTZ ELEMENTARY: An open house is scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 2 throughout the school.
NEWSOME HIGH: Orientation for freshmen and new students will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday in the auditorium. An open house for all students and parents is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Aug. 2.
PROGRESS VILLAGE MIDDLE: An orientation for new students begins at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 1 in the auditorium.
RIVERVIEW HIGH: Ninth-grade orientation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday in the auditorium. Open afternoon for students in grades 10 through 12 will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday.
SHIELDS MIDDLE: Student orientation begins at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 2 in individual classrooms.
WIMAUMA ELEMENTARY: An open house is scheduled for 3 to 6 p.m. Aug. 3.
